Our aim is to maximise the use of resources within the Catholic community in order to provide facilities to invest funds, offer loans at favourable cost for capital and other projects, and provide the means of promoting the pastoral and educational needs of the Ballarat Diocese.
The Diocese of Ballarat - Catholic Development Fund (CDF) is an integral source of income for the pastoral services offered by the Church across the Diocese. The CDF allocates half of its annual operating surplus to the Diocese for pastoral and welfare work. In addition, the CDF also provides funding for accommodation for retired priests.
The CDF enables your investment to combine with those of other parishioners and catholic agencies and assist the Diocese through loans to parishes, schools and other diocesan entities.
Your deposit into a CDF account is not a donation. While every dollar you deposit works for the benefit of the Church, at the same time it earns for you a healthy return free of administrative fees and charges.
Since the Fund began in 1972, the CDF has advanced in excess of $60 million to schools and parishes within the Diocese of Ballarat to finance approved capital projects such as new churches, parish centres, classrooms, libraries and technology related equipment. The CDF has saved your community many hundreds of thousands of dollars in interest payments.
Your decision to save and invest with the CDF will help to ensure that funding will continue to be available to schools and parishes in order to provide facilities for you and your family.
