Bungaree Parish Remembrance Mass

On a cold and wet Sunday morning in November we were not able to celebrate the annual Parish Mass at the Pootilla Cemetery. An early call was made to change the venue to St Michael’s Church, Bungaree.

A lone piper began the Mass, alongside our very talented local musicians – Mary Slater, Majella Muller, Kaylene Rumler, Fiona Boadle and Pat Prendergast – who led us beautifully in song.

As we gathered at St Michael’s Church, Fr Des FitzGerald CSsR, current visiting priest for the Bungaree Parish, reminded us that we were celebrating in spirit with those we love and remember at the cemetery.

At the end of Mass, people were able to catch-up with friends old and new inside the Church and foyer area and a brave few ventured outside. The coffee van was parked in the driveway and there were many who took the opportunity of a hot drink on a cold day.

Once again this Mass was a wonderful time for our community to catch up with many old friends and remember our loved ones lost to us.
