FAREWELL SR. MARION McDONALD RSM

On Sunday 23rd of April 2017, the Parish of Merbein farewelled Sr. Marion McDonald after eighteen years of pastoral ministry within the Community. Parishioners from Mildura and Red Cliffs also attended the celebration which began with the 10:30am Sunday Mass and continued with lunch.

At the conclusion of the Mass Mr Kevin McCoy, a member of the Parish Council, made an emotional speech acknowledging the wonderful contribution Sr. Marion has made over almost two decades. Sr. Marion is the longest serving pastor of Merbein since it was first made a Parish over fifty years ago.

Sr. Marion has been a strong spiritual presence among the Parishioners, and an extremely important support, guide and mentor to both staff and students of the Parish Primary School. Her presence has also been greatly appreciated by the wider Merbein Community.

We wish Sr. Marion every blessing as she moves into this next stage of her life at Rice Village Geelong. Her contribution to the Merbein Parish will be long remembered and fondly recalled well into the future.
