The Centre for Liturgy (Australian Catholic University)

The ACU Centre for Liturgy provides specialist expertise, teaching, research and formation in liturgical studies, sacramental theology, and the sacred arts. Officially endorsed by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, they offer formative education at every level from training programs for parish ministers through to doctoral degrees for higher degree research students. Programs are tailored to meet the training and formation needs of individual parishes and schools, Catholic education offices, and dioceses in urban and rural locations throughout Australia and the region. Liturgy Resource for Schools

Together at One Altar website, developed by the National Catholic Education Commission, is a resource for school aged children in years F-12 in Australia to develop their formation in the Eucharist and assist their full, active and conscious participation in the Eucharist.  Click here to go to the website.

Kids’ Sunday Liturgy

Brisbane Liturgy have produced a new online resource designed to assist parishes in preparing and celebrating authentic children’s Liturgy of the Word on Sundays.  For each Sunday there is a complete liturgy including the Sunday gospel from the Children’s lectionary, a take-home activity sheet, suggested music from Michael Mangan’s Litmus Productions with a free embedded Gospel acclamation,  a drama strategy for Gospel reflection,  curated YouTube films.  There are three licence options available – parishes, schools, individuals.  Included with every Parish Licence are 200 free activity sheet covers, posted to the parish address.  Click here for a sample Kids' Sunday LiturgyClick here for a sample Take Home Activity Sheet.  Click here to view the How-To-Guide.

Sharing the Word

Sharing the Word is a free E-Library of educational resources for Catholic Ministry.  Sharing the Word is an ongoing project of Catholic Mission Australia and includes full texts of over 8000 open source ebooks, periodicals, podcasts and church documents.  It is free and available at  https://sharingtheword.info/

Bread 4 Today

Bread 4 Today provides access to daily prayers for reflection and meditation whenever you can spare a moment during the day.  The prayer archive allows users to search past entries by category so that they can reflect on prayers that match their frame of mind. Its categories include: Courage, A just world, Relationships, Hope, Hard Times, Faith, Forgiveness and special intensions (calendar days of prayer and reflection). All prayers can be shared via social media with a tap of the screen, thanks to its integrated social media capabilities.

Lent Resources 

TRUST
The Catholic Diocese of Wollongong are now taking orders for our TRUST—Lenten Program 2019 book and triple CD resource.  TRUST includes short daily reflections (from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday) in addition to the longer-form Sunday Gospel reflections, spiritual direction, gospel readings, responsorial psalms, prayers and reflection questions that are traditionally part of the Lenten program for groups.  Click here for more information or order online here.

 

DISCERNING THE WAY OF JESUS
The Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay has produced a Lenten resource for 2019, "Discerning the Way of Jesus." This resource will be available from mid-January and consists of a booklet and CD, which has been produced to be used in small group settings or individually.  The resource focuses on the coming Sunday's readings and uses the lectio divina method of reading scripture for the Gospel; encouraging discernment of what God is asking of you, through Lent.

LAUDATO SI'  STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Columban Fr Charles Rue has written this year's Lenten resource for the St Columbans Mission Society. He brings together his ecological expertise and knowledge of prayer and liturgy to give us a Stations of the Cross that is up-to-date and deeply prayerful. He has listened to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor. THE LENTEN PILGRIM
The Melbourne Archbihop's Office for Evangelisation are journeying through the Season of Lent with "The Lenten Pilgrim" prayer resources including a 40-day Lenten calendar poster, weekly gospel reflections (ideal for group discussion), a Stations of the Cross prayer booklet, an outline for a Penitential Rite, a Triduum checklist, PowerPoint templates and artwork for real estate boards to promote Lent, Holy Week and Easter masses/events.  There is also a weekly podcast.  Click here for more information.

LENT: CELEBRATING THE PASCHAL MYSTERY: FROM ASH TO FLAME

The Australian Catholic Bishops Commission for Liturgy provides liturgical commentary for the celebrations of Holy Week and Easter.  The freely accessible commentary provides valuable historical, theological, liturgical and pastoral perspectives on the celebration of the paschal seasons and liturgical rites and also some bulletin inserts that could be provided for the important liturgies of the Easter Triduum.
