Diocesan News
The annual gathering of the Diocesan Pastoral Support Group took place at Halls Gap on October 26–28. This year, we enjoyed a new venue—Mount View Lodges—set amidst beautiful natural surroundings and mountain views, which proved to be a good choice.
The group comprises of people who have different ministries in their parishes, who recognise the importance of faith formation and value opportunities to share, learn, and support one another. As is tradition, we began with a shared BBQ meal on Sunday evening, filled with plenty of food and good cheer.

Following the recent Diocesan Assembly, our focus this year was on continuing the theme of “Synodality in our Parishes” and experiencing this approach as a way forward for the Church. Twelve members attended, with apologies from four others. Our facilitator for the day was Lesley Price, who served as a table facilitator at the Assembly. Lesley guided us with grace and prayerfulness through spiritual conversations, modelling the synodal process beautifully. The group expressed deep appreciation for her thoughtful preparation and inspiring leadership.
We were also grateful for the welcoming hospitality of the Mount View staff and the suitability of the venue. We warmly invite others who are interested to join us next year.
Finally, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Bishop Paul for his ongoing interest, encouragement and financial support, which enables our group to continue meeting.
