Honouring the existing strong historical connection between Warrnambool and Japan, the first curriculum workshop of the Warrnambool-based Japanese primary teacher CIRP was held on Friday, February 6, 2026. This year, experienced Japanese teacher, Anne Robertson from St Patrick’s, Port Fairy will coach and lead the participant group to explore the impact of pedagogical coaching on developing teacher skill and capacity in Japanese teaching within the Warrnambool area. The CIRP will focus on the premise that when teachers are supported through professional learning, coaching, collaboration and shared innovation, they are empowered to deliver higher-quality teaching that leads to improved student outcomes and a stronger culture of language learning.
