From May 18-24, 2026 we have the opportunity to celebrate and recognise the vital work of volunteers and to say thank you and this includes people in our parishes and agencies.
The theme for National Volunteer Week 2026 is “Your Year to Volunteer”. This theme honours the contributions of volunteers and invites people across Australia to make 2026 a year of meaningful involvement, in ways that work for them. This year is also a moment to thank those who already give their time and to invite others to discover how volunteering can create connection, purpose and lasting positive change.
Prayer for Volunteers
We pray for all those who volunteer in our parishes.
May we value the many talents and gifts
that God has given to these people.
We thank them for generously offering
their time to parish ministries.
For all these gifts, given out of your love,
we thank you, God of all goodness. Amen.
