In August, St Peter’s Church Daylesford played a central role in the Winter Sounds 2026 Festival, offering the community and visitors an unforgettable encounter with music, architecture, history and atmosphere. Within St Peter’s extraordinary walls, three intimate concerts over three nights, brought together sound, place and spirit in a setting that proved as memorable as the performances themselves.
As night fell, the illuminated church became a striking feature of the Winter Sounds experience. Festival Director Dave Frazer captured the response perfectly, “All three artists were absolutely blown away with how spectacular the Church looked and sounded, and seeing the look on our patrons’ faces when they enter that space for the first time is always one of the highlights of the festival for me!”
For locals and tourists alike, the concerts offered more than an evening of music. They opened the doors to one of Daylesford’s treasured buildings, allowing audiences to appreciate St Peter’s not only as a place of worship, but as a vibrant cultural space at the heart of the Daylesford.
