Recent merging of Parishes

After consulting the priests and parishioners of the parishes involved, as well as the Council of Priests of the Diocese of Ballarat, Bishop Paul issued decrees that a number of parishes will be joined together. This took effect from July 1, 2025.

The Parishes of Ballarat North, Beaufort and the Cathedral became the Ballarat Cathedral Parish.

The Parishes of Linton, Redan and Sebastopol became the Holy Trinity Parish, South West Ballarat.

The Parishes of Ouyen and Robinvale joined with the Sunraysia Parish and all became the Saints Anne and Joachim Parish, Sunraysia.

Bishop Paul offers his thanks to all who have taken part in the discussions about these parishes and prays that the Holy Spirit continues to guide the development of these new parishes and each local community within them.
