Australian Catholic Youth Festival – registrations still open!

ACYF 2017Around 14,000 young participants will be at the Australian Catholic Youth Festival in Sydney in December to explore and share the Festival theme Open New Horizons for Spreading Joy.  Guest musicians and performers include Matt Maher, Emily Wilson, Steve Angrisano, Emma Fradd and Fr Rob Galea.  The Festival is from Thursday 7 to Saturday 9 December at Sydney’s Showgrounds in the Olympic Park complex.  There will be two plenary (whole Festival) events every day featuring lots of music, as well as many options of workshops, keynote speakers, prayer and worship, social justice, and of course food and fun activities.  There will be an Expo full of information, people to meet and activities. Bishop Paul will be there for the whole Festival. Come and visit the Ballarat Diocese Youth and Young Adult Ministry stall at the Expo and enter the activity & prize draw.  Also our friends at Melbourne Archdiocese Office of Youth will have a mini coffee shop at the Expo.  The Festival program will be released before the Festival, so your group can plan. You don’t need to pre-book individual events – there is plenty to choose from at any time of the day or early evening. The Festival finishes with a pilgrimage walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the Domain gardens where the Closing Mass will be held at dusk on the Saturday.

Festival registrations for groups are open until 22 September – under 18s can only register as part of a group. http://youthfestival.catholic.org.au/register

Individual registrations (18-30yo) remain open right up to the Festival, including pre-booked Day Passes.

Ballarat Diocese Youth and Young Adult Ministry is assisting groups with transport to Sydney and back, as well as accommodation in Sydney.  Please contact Amanda for info about the Festival, including transport and accommodation, 0427 748 867 or youth@ballarat.catholic.org.au
