Prayers of the Faithful

CELEBRANT: Jesus calls us to love as he has loved.  Assured of the Father’s answer to our prayer, let us ask for God’s blessing on all that lives.

 

LEADER:

We pray for all who take the Gospel to new places and peoples, that like Peter they will witness an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

We pray for all who have been baptized in the name of Jesus, that they will be a credible sign of God’s saving love for the world.

We pray for the leaders of industrial nations, that they will become committed champions of climate justice.

(Pause for silent prayer)

We pray for all who are tending to the dying and burying the dead in COVID-ravaged countries, that they will stay strong in body, mind and spirit.

(Pause for silent prayer)

We pray for Cheryl Caveny receiving the Sacraments of Initiation into God’s family and for Leo Payne being Baptised and for our children preparing for their Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.

We pray for mothers, grandmothers and all who have a motherly role, that they will be blessed by the children they have raised with love.

We pray for nurses around the world, that International Nurses Day will reinforce community appreciation for their devoted service.

We pray for the recently deceased Marie Holdsworth, Agapito da Sousa, Veronica Barker, Reggie Cox, Frank Costa, Warsizo do Santos, Kevin Ryan, Elaine Reicha, Frank Sheehan OAM, Bill Cannon, Euphemia (Bakker) Zammit, Anthony Ward and those whose anniversary of death occurs around this time Margaret Gleeson, Ursula & Esmonde Forrest, Our Deceased Mothers and Grandmothers, Betty Delaney, Olive O’Donnell, Frances Lanaghan, Father Denis McCarthy, Jack O’Donnell, Ray King, Thomas Atkinson, Rita Van Kempen, Wendy Durdin, Veronica Barker and Jim Shanley.
